Reference · Sources

How we source & cite.

Every product entry is built from grounded research, structured into the Don't Eat Framework, and reviewed before it's published. Nothing on this site is generated from memory — every claim points to a live, verifiable URL.

§ 01 · The pipeline

Grounded research, then structured.

Each entry begins as live web research restricted to a whitelist of authoritative sources — regulators, public-health bodies, and a small set of established Indian and international publications. The grounded findings are then structured against our six-axis Don't Eat Framework before anything is written to the index.

§ 02 · Citation hygiene

Every claim is cited.

Every assertion in a product entry — a number, a date, a regulatory action, a marketing claim — is tied to a numbered reference with publisher, title, and where possible a supporting quote. Reference markers in the prose stay consistent with the citation list at the bottom of the page, so you can always trace a claim back to its source.

If a citation ever looks broken or off-topic, the Submit a correction flow is the fastest fix.

§ 04 · What we don't do

Hard limits

  • We don't accept manufacturer submissions.
  • We don't take ads, affiliate links, or sponsorships.
  • We don't paraphrase regulatory documents — we link them.
  • We don't republish entries without re-running the pipeline.
